How to Host a Wii Party

Imagine what a fantastic time everyone can have if you can organize a Wii party. It will be so much fun and an innovative way of holding a party.  All you have to do is get a list of your friends drawn up and have some finger food or snacks and drink ready to have the time of your life. Here are some tips to host a Wii party that will be talked about for years to come.

  • First of all clear your living room of all unwanted furniture including the couch, the settee and coffee table. Since most of the games have to be played standing up, keep the area in front of the TV free. You can line up some chairs against the walls for the non players to sit when not taking playing.
  • Draw up some snazzy invitations to get your friends in the mood so that they will know what to expect. You can also e-mail your invitations with colorful emoticons to make them realize how much fun it’s going to be.
  • Select the wii games you hope to play at the party.  Depending on the number of people you invite and their preferences, select the ones that are generally great fun and can be played by many.  Have a variety ready and also a few games that can be learnt fast, for players who have not played wii games before.
  • Make sure that you have enough wiimotes or wii remote controls for everyone to take part. You must have remotes according to the type of games you have. i.e. two player games, 4 player games, etc.  Prepare a schedule and set aside at least 3-4 hours of play if you want to have a really enjoyable time gaming.
  • If your friends are into wii games and have games at home, ask them to bring their remotes with them so that many can play at the same time.
  • For those who are not familiar with the wii games and wii accessories, demonstrate how to handle the remote and how to hold the strap.  Make them wash their hands if they have been eating, to prevent any food and grease getting into the wii accessories.
  • Don’t forget to serve the food and drinks you have prepared.  Have the type of food that is easy to eat while playing. Your guests will be having so much fun that they might not really care why they eat.  But it’s better to prepare food that doesn’t dirty their hands while eating and playing.
  • It’s very important that you make sure everyone invited gets a chance to play and use the remote. There will be some who are experts at the games and will want to keep on playing. Don’t let anyone stand around all the time without being given a chance to take part.
  • Don’t forget to get some pictures of your friends doing crazy things. Just think of the fun and how hilarious it will be when they see how they’ve been acting during the party?

Always remember that it’s the host who’s responsible for the success or failure of a party. It’s up to the host to make sure that all her guests have a lovely time and in the case of a wii party, she has to be doubly sure that all who attended her party had at least some fun with the wii games and accessories.
